2021 STATISTICS
Well, the anticipated ‘battle’ for the Annual Championship between Ryan and Blake culminating in what we had hoped might be the dream playoff (complete with rival partisan caddies) did not happen, with Blake managing to finish third (36) and Ryan a disrespectable (given his form) 5th (35) in a countback with Court!! The December Mug was taken by Simon scoring a blistering 43 points, Steve coming in second with 40 points, setting up a nice little cart comp for the Green Jacket on Saturday.
That Green Jacket comp was neck and neck for most of the day – the pair rounding the 9th halved (so that was Steve 3 points up on Simon for the 9). It remained a closely fought battle until the 15th where Steve looked like he was actually AIMING for the water – 3 times, so taking a wipe on that one while Simon scored a 3! There was an episode on the 16th with Steve actually sitting down on the fringe summoning his zen after leaving yet another chip painfully short, he managed to drain the 3m putt after his calmness took over. All a little too late after the blowout on 15th and Simon proceeded to take it out over the final 2 holes and the Green Jacket was his.
In exciting ML December news, Ryan ‘Kirbs’ Kirby elected to join our drinking golfing club (without the drinking part for him!) for the 2022 season – yay….. only to withdraw that membership in early January 22 after deciding to move to the NSW highlands for the winter, so skiing through the year instead of golfing with us!! Good luck Kirbs!
Congratulations to Ryan for taking the Annual Championship and (3/4 of a) Mug for 2021 – great golf for the year without missing a round. Well done Ryan!
